Recovery Act Funds for Solar Upgrade at Pahoa Store

October 30, 2009

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senators Daniel K. Akaka and Daniel K. Inouye announced today that the Pahoa Cash and Carry Store will receive $67,219 for a solar electricity upgrade.

"I am pleased that this Recovery Act program will help a small business in Pahoa to invest in a solar energy project," Senator Akaka said.  "Clean, renewable energy reduces our reliance on imported oil and helps protect our environment."

The Payments for Specific Energy Property in Lieu of Tax Credits Award from the U.S. Department of Treasury is through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
